The College of Natural Sciences provides staff support and resources to science-based organizations whose focus and activities benefit CNS students through leadership experience, outreach, and networking.

CNS Registration & Gone to Natural Sciences

If you would like to register your organization with the college and your org has never been registered with CNS before, please fill out the CNS New Organization Registration Form and email cnsstudentlife@austin.utexas.edu after submitting. Please note that in order to be eligible for CNS registration, your org must first be registered with  Student Activities and have the majority of your members in CNS.

If your org was previously registered with the college, please re-register here for the 2018-2019 academic school year before August 20th, 2018. 

Lunch with the dean

During the fall and spring semesters, the leaders of our registered student organizations are invited to a monthly lunch with our Student Dean, Dr. David Vandenbout and the CNS Student Life team. These lunches are a great way for organization leaders to connect with each other as well as the college. 


CNS provides banners to our registered organizations after 1 year of activity. It is the responsibility of the individual organizations to keep track of these banners for tabling and events. Any organization who loses their banner will be financially responsible for its replacement. 

CNS Event & Benefit Request 

Registered CNS student organizations who wish to request the use of funds for special events benefiting students in our college may submit their requests here. Please submit your request as soon as possible but NO LATER THAN 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE of the event purchase or it will not be approved. The first deadline to request event funding will be Noon on September 17th, the second deadline will be Noon on October 10th, and the third/final deadline for the fall semester will be Noon on November 12th, with the last available funded event to take place on December 12th. Event Marketing

We want to know what your organization is up to and so do our students! To have a large event be considered for placement in our weekly CNS Student newsletter or event calendar online, please email cnsstudentlifeassistant@austin.utexas.edu - include two sentences with the organization name, event name, event date, time, and location with a website link embedded. 
Submit by noon on the Wednesday of each week to be included in the next week's newsletter (emailed out every Monday).
