The College of Natural Sciences (CNS) provides staff support and resources to science-based organizations whose focus and activities benefit CNS students through leadership experience, outreach, and networking.

CNS Registration & Gone to Natural Sciences

If your org was previously registered with the college,
please re-register here for the 2019-2020 academic school year before Friday, September 6th, 2019. 

If your org has not been registered with CNS before, please fill out the CNS New Organization Registration Form and email cnsstudentlife@austin.utexas.edu after submitting.

Please note that in order to be eligible for CNS registration, your org must first be registered with Student Activities and the majority of your membership must be majoring in a discipline housed in CNS. 

In early September, all organizations registered with CNS will be sent information on how to register for Gone to Natural Sciences - which occurs in early October 

CNS Event & Benefit Request 

Fuding for the 2018-2019 school year has now ended. Registered CNS student organizations who wish to request the use of funds for special events benefiting students in our college may submit their requests for the 2019-2020 school year here. Please submit your request as soon as possible, but no less than 2 weeks before the event purchase or it will not be approved. Please keep in mind that our office is only able to purchase food/supplies for events from approved vendors.

Funding Deadlines for the Spring 2020 Semester: February 17th, March 9th, and April 15th.

Event Marketing

We want to know what your organization is up to and so do our students! To have a large event be considered for placement in Dr. Vandenbout's weekly CNS Student newsletter or the online event calendar, please fill out the form linked here. If you have any questions please email cnsstudentlife@austin.utexas.edu.

Submit by noon on the Wednesday of each week to be included in the next week's newsletter.


During the fall and spring semesters, the leaders of our registered student organizations are invited to a monthly lunch with our Student Dean, Dr. David Vandenbout and the CNS Student Life team. These lunches are a great way for organization leaders to connect with each other as well as the college. 


CNS provides banners to our registered organizations after 1 year of activity. It is the responsibility of the individual organizations to keep track of these banners for tabling and events. Any organization who loses their banner will be financially responsible for its replacement.
