Faculty, staff and students in the College often need to communicate research to colleagues at professional meetings, poster sessions and seminars, as well as to lay audiences and the general public.
Tips & Tricks
Poster Printing Services
In the past, the communications office was able to assist with preparation of posters for a fee, but we are no longer able to provide this service. A number of options on campus make it possible for researchers to get their posters professionally printed through other channels.
Several services on campus exist to assist with poster printing and related needs:
- The Center for Computational Biology and BioInformatics Poster Printing welcomes orders from researchers in the College of Natural Sciences.
- The University of Texas Libraries offers Poster Printing services at a reasonable price.
- With sufficient lead time, you can arrange poster printing through the Texas Institute for Discovery Education in Science in the College of Natural Sciences.
UT’s Document Solutions offers poster printing for researchers.
- Several departments and centers in CNS have their own poster printers. Check with your department to learn more.
Note: The UT library can also assist with digital preparations of slides. To learn more, contact library staff at: 512-495-4130.
For undergraduates: Please visit this website to learn more about additional poster printing for undergraduate students.
Scientific Illustration and Design
Austin is home to a number of professionals who specialize in scientific illustration and design. The communications and media office maintains a small list of people who have offered to work with the College's scientists for a fee. To be added to our database of scientific illustrators or for contact information for one of these professionals, please contact Director of Communications Christine Sinatra.
