Faculty, staff and students in the College often need to communicate research to colleagues at professional meetings, poster sessions and seminars, as well as to lay audiences and the general public.

Research Poster Templates

Poster template example

A series of new poster templates in multiple styles is available especially for Natural Sciences students and researchers. Use these templates for polished presentations to display your work. There are two sizes to choose from, each available in PPT and each containing eight different styles, with four layout options per style:

Slides 1-5 include instructions on how to choose the best template for your project and edit it accordingly.

As a complementary resource, be sure to review this new resource to aid college researchers in designing scientific figures.

Poster Printing Services

In the past, the communications office was able to assist with preparation of posters for a fee, but we are no longer able to provide this service. A number of options on campus make it possible for researchers to get their posters professionally printed through other channels.

Several services on campus exist to assist with poster printing and related needs:

Note: The UT library can also assist with digital preparations of slides. To learn more, contact library staff at: 512-495-4130.

For undergraduates: Please visit this website to learn more about additional poster printing for undergraduate students.

Scientific Illustration and Design

Austin is home to a number of professionals who specialize in scientific illustration and design. The communications and media office maintains a small list of people who have offered to work with the College's scientists for a fee. To be added to our database of scientific illustrators or for contact information for one of these professionals, please contact Director of Communications Christine Sinatra. You also may wish to consult our Design Tips for Scientists for additional information.
