All students at The University of Texas at Austin must complete a 42-hour core curriculum requirement, regardless of major. Courses in the core may be used to satisfy other degree requirements. However a core course cannot be used to satisfy more than one core requirement.

Students graduating from the College of Natural Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree under the 2008-10 Catalog must complete all of the following requirements except the Signature Course. Beginning with the 2010-2012 Catalog, all graduates in the College of Natural Sciences must complete the entire core.
