“It’s a great publication that makes UT research and scientific inquiry accessible to alumni and the general public.”

The College of Natural Sciences’ magazine, The Texas Scientist, was chosen to receive the 2016 University of Texas System Chancellor’s Excellence Award for Outstanding Publications. The award “recognizes outstanding work in the production of both print and online publications…that advance the university’s mission with excellence in writing, design and creativity.”

The Texas Scientist was created by the college’s communications team to highlight the innovative people and world-changing discoveries that help the college make a significant impact on the world.

“It’s a great publication that makes UT research and scientific inquiry accessible to alumni and the general public,” said Gary Susswein, Chief Communications Officer for UT Austin. “This award is well-deserved.”

The award was presented at a luncheon during the UT System’s annual System Seminar on December 5, 2016.
