Description

The natural world offers radical models of the queer ways we can transform our communities, reimagine ourselves and care for each other. Nature itself is exuberantly queer—clownfish often change their sex, and bonobos are bisexual. Sabrina Imbler’s book, How Far the Light Reaches, melds science writing and memoir to find meaning and intertwine ourselves with the more-than-human world.

RSVP and Pre-submit Questions for Sabrina’s Consideration by February 29.

RSVP and attend the event for a chance to win a copy of How Far the Light ReachesGoodreads nominee for Best Nonfiction in 2023.

This event is hosted in person only and will not be livestreamed or recorded.

About the Talk Series

The College of Natural Sciences is a learning community, where people come together to interact and discuss topics among faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends. New Equations, our current series, is offered each long semester. Invited authors and thought leaders come to campus for conversations at the intersection of science and identity about topics relevant to the climate we want to see college-wide, where all of our members feel safe, supported and seen—the essence of belonging.
