Description

What does independent research in environmental science look like? What do EVS students at UT Austin do for their Capstone? What exciting science is being done by undergraduate students right now?

Find out by tuning into the 3rd Annual Environmental Research Film Festival April 18th at 6 p.m. This film festival features more than 30 original short films showcasing the independent Capstone Research projects by students in the EVS degree program. This event is brought to you by the Environmental Science Professionalism Class (EVS 151) at UT Austin and will be hosted by senior Environmental Science major Marley O’Brien. Films explore a range of topics within environmental science, featuring work in geology, biology and geography.

The Environmental Science (EVS) program at the University of Texas at Austin is an interdisciplinary degree program offered collaboratively between the College of Natural Sciences, the Jackson School of Geosciences and the College of Liberal Arts. After two years, students in the EVS program choose a specialization in either the biological sciences, geological sciences or the geographical sciences. The degree program encourages professional development in the environmental sciences by building a scientific foundation complete with hands-on fieldwork experience, independent research under faculty mentorship, and professional guidance and preparation.
