Description

Undergraduate researchers from The University of Texas at Austin and across Texas will speak on their research projects in the biological and chemical sciences and may participate in the Science Slam.

General sessions will include 8-minute research presentations followed by 2 minutes of questions. Science Slam talks are 3-minute “elevator” talks in which students describe their research targeting a non-scientist/layperson audience. Graduate schools from across Texas will also be at the event for recruiting.

The keynote speaker with be Dr. Alex Huth (Computer Science and Neuroscience) speaking on his work “Encoding and Decoding of Natural Language in fMRI” that was recently published in Nature Neuroscienceand featured in CNS News as an “AI brain decoder” and tested out on a CNN reporter.
