- AI Heads to Class: Showcasing UT Course Innovations
Wondering how AI is shaping experiences here at UT? Join us for a dynamic series of lightning talks and demos that showcase the latest AI applications in UT classes. This session is perfect for students, faculty, future teachers and anyone passionate about learning and development. Discover how AI is making waves in the classroom and beyond from 16 leading faculty who have put AI to work in their courses. - Interactive Workshop: AI & Eradicating Food Insecurity (WCP 1.106)
This innovative, interactive session will explore how artificial intelligence can revolutionize our food systems and fight hunger. With community partners and experts, we will establish a shared understanding of the Austin Food Plan and AI’s potential to reduce food insecurity. Open to all – bring a taste for innovation and making a difference! Speakers: Charlee Garden, Tim Riedel- There is limited capacity in this session; participation is first-come, first-served.

- From Classrooms to College Sports: Leveraging Psychology and AI to Empower Gen Z
Imagine a world where artificial intelligence helps parents, educators, coaches and managers tap into the basic neurological systems that drive young people’s motivation and behavior. Join David Yeager, UT psychologist and author of the current best-seller “10-25: The Science of Motivating Young People,” in a conversation with neuroscience professor Michael Drew and Texas Baseball pitching coach Max Weiner, moderated by investor and former CEO Jag Bath. This discussion will explore how data and artificial intelligence are reshaping the ways we mentor students, develop athletes and improve communications in inter-generational relationships.

Join a hands-on workshop where you will learn how to combine micro:bits with Google’s Teachable Machine to rapidly prototype AI-powered inventions. This beginner-friendly session, led by the Makerspace team in the College of Natural Sciences, will introduce AI, coding and electronics, while offering practical learning experiences for all skill levels. Speaker: Patrick Benfield- A light lunch will be provided.

Virtual beings powered by generative AI are teaching and tutoring students across campus. Come learn more about cutting-edge ways in which faculty and campus leadership are harnessing Artificial Intelligence for the benefit of classroom learning.

Explore cutting-edge ways teachers and students are harnessing artificial intelligence for the benefit of teaching and learning, as well as some of the challenges and risks these emergent technologies present. Participants from OnRamps, TACC, WeTeachCS, UTeach and the Charles A. Dana Center will discuss the latest in the overlapping worlds of learning and technology.

“Two Guys on Your Head,” the long-running psychology-themed podcast with Art Markman and Bob Duke, will record live on the UT campus—with a twist: One of the two co-hosts will be on stage only as an AI-generated avatar of himself, available to converse with his co-host and with producer Rebecca McInroy. Check out this live experiment, and learn what it means for our brains, as well, to converse with artificial intelligence in ways that until recently were the domain of human-human conversation alone.
