Lisa Barnes

Lisa Barnes joined the College of Natural Sciences as an associate director of development for major gifts in January 2025.  Lisa oversees fundraising for all areas across CNS and supports donors in the New York and Midwest regions. Prior to CNS, Lisa spent time in Student Affairs and Talent Development at UT Austin.

Lisa is an Army veteran, mom of 2 boys and wife of over 20 years. Her unconventional career path from army officer to small business owner to stay-at-home mom to nonprofit fundraising, gives Lisa a unique perspective. Lisa is a proud Pittsburgh native and has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton and a M.S. in Aviation Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
