Meet Computer Science and SAGA Lab Grad Branden Heng
Experiences in the Simulations and Game Applications Lab in UTCS proved key for his time on the Forty Acres.
Among the graduates being celebrated this May are December graduates like Branden Heng. Branden studied computer science and gained first-hand experience during his time at UT as part of the Simulations and Game Applications Lab (SAGA), led by Paul Toprac. SAGA has spent the last decade connecting teams of students to project opportunities, often with faculty and groups across the University. During his time with SAGA, Branden presented research on the feasibility of using AI tools to create video games.
For Branden, video games are the ideal combination of art, science, and problem-solving. His work as a Teaching Assistant has allowed him to mentor others in thoughtful game design. Most exciting of all, Branden is developing a game called Golfin Slayer, which you can learn all about in this Texas Science video.
