For many years, the School of Biological Sciences (SBS) Postdoc Association served the UT-Austin biosciences community with a mission to:
- nurture the professional goals of postdocs
- augment individual research through informal discussions and presentations
- share experience and information on scientific and professional topics
- stimulate interaction with postdocs and professionals in all departments at UT and beyond
In the fall of 2013, the leadership team of the SBS Postdoc Association agreed to expand the association beyond the biosciences, in order to engage and serve postdocs in other scientific fields.
Ongoing activities include:
Industry Site Visits - Several local biotech and science service companies have hosted small groups of CNS postdocs for informational visits and facilities tours. Watch the cns-postdoc email listserv for information about upcoming opportunities.
Monthly Seminars - All CNS postdocs are encouraged to participate in monthly professional development seminars and to utilize other career development resources available in CNS.
