Join a live podcast taping featuring UT Assistant Professor of Molecular Biosciences Despoina Mavridou as she dives into her groundbreaking research on antimicrobial resistance—a growing global health challenge.

Dr. Despoina Mavridou is a chemist by training who earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford, where she studied disulfide bond formation in E. coli. After postdoctoral work on redox biology and cytochrome c maturation, she received an MRC Career Development Award and established her own lab at Imperial College London, focusing on antibiotic resistance and bacterial interactions. She joined the Department of Molecular Biosciences at UT Austin as an Assistant Professor in 2020.
