The 4th Annual Translational Research Open House invites faculty and researchers to explore new collaborations across campus and apply for up to $50,000 in project support.
Description
Sponsored by HTRI in partnership with Texas Biologics, this event is designed to connect lab and clinical scientists across campus. Emerging research teams will have the chance to apply for up to $50,000 in fiscal support, which may be used toward participant compensation and laboratory-based expenses. HTRI also provides study coordination, regulatory and biobanking support, including logistics, cataloging and storage of biospecimens collected.
- Environmental Drivers of Respiratory Health, focusing on current gaps in the ability to evaluate the mechanisms linking these environmental exposures to asthma disparities with Darlene Bhavnani.
- Improving Outcomes in Prematurely-Born Infants through Advances in Physiologic Monitoring using machine learning/AI to enhance the ability to identify impending illness with Alan Groves.
- Clinical Diagnostic Applications of Genomic Sequencing and AI in Imaging in Ophthalmology, with a focus on genomic sequencing for the potential need for locally based diagnostic testing for intraocular infections with Eric Crowell.
- Microbes as Vehicles for the Production and Delivery of Biologics, highlighting the use of bacteria to deliver protein and RNA treatments with Bryan W. Davies.
- Advancing Precision Health Through Multi-Omics Spatial Biology: Integrated Insights into the Diagnosis and Treatment of Bipolar Disorder, Neurodegeneration, Cancer and Other Diseases will explore how to advance spatial metallomics, metabolomics and glycomics to address knowledge gaps with Yi Lu.
- Human Tumor & Tonsil Organoids: Modeling Immunity and Testing Therapies to co-develop innovative approaches for uncovering disease mechanisms and advancing translational therapies with Qian Yin.
