Christos Karamitros, Ph.D., is Global Science Lead in Pharmaceutical Development at Nestlé Science Health. His work focuses on engineering human enzymes for cancer immunotherapy and metabolic diseases. He co-led development of IK-412, the first immune checkpoint enzyme drug, contributing to the founding of Ikena Oncology, and has led drug discovery programs through key preclinical stages. He previously supported research at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry and the University of Texas at Austin, with expertise in directed evolution, enzyme characterization, HDX-MS and molecular dynamics.
