Join in for live views of our nearby galactic neighborhood from the dark skies at McDonald Observatory.
Description
For centuries, people thought that the Milky Way was the edge of our universe. That was, until Edwin Hubble found a variable star in the Andromeda galaxy and we were able to literally expand our horizons like never before! Join staff from the McDonald Observatory and Mt. Wilson Observatory as they discuss Edwin Hubble’s monumental discovery, talk a bit about our galactic neighborhood and take a peak at our nearby galactic neighborhood, all while enjoying some live views (weather permitting).
Moderators in the live chat will be taking questions, and the host will take more at the end.
Can’t make the livestream? The event will be recorded and remain on the McDonald Observatory’s YouTube channel.
