Astronomy Uncorked: What is Time?

Description
It’s November. The days are getting shorter and colder. We just turned back our clocks.
But what is this thing we call time, anyways? How long is a day? Why has NASA been tasked with creating time zones for the Moon? What does time have to do with astronomy anyway?
Come join AoTATX for answers to these and more in a relaxed atmosphere over a glass of wine.
Astronomy on Tap ATX (AoTATX) is usually held on the second or third Tuesday of every month at Celis Brewing at 8:00 pm during summer and 7:30 pm the rest of the year. AoTATX is currently organized by a committee of Austin-based astronomers.
AoTATX features accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. In addition to talks, each AoTATX has trivia, prize giveaways, Astronomy in the News and plenty of time to interact with the presenters and other astronomers in the audience.
Find them on Facebook, Twitter/X and Instagram. Selected talks from previous events can be found on their YouTube channel.
