Enjoy giveaways and get to know your Texas Science community, with light snacks and opportunities to meet and greet fellow students.

Description

Annual welcome event for incoming students, hosted in coordination with University Events’ Gone to Texas.

This casual event will host over 50 student organizations, college resources and services, photo booths and light snacks. You can also pick up a Texas Science shirt and talk to the Deans! Please plan on bringing a refillable water bottle for the event. There are 2 water refill stations in Welch for you to utilize. We also suggest eating prior to the event, especially if you are going to Gone to Texas directly after.

Event Schedule

6:30 p.m. Official event start.
You may enter Welch Hall from East Mall or Speedway, just look for the “Gone to Natural Sciences” signs.

6:30-7:45 p.m. Student org & resources fair

7:45 p.m. Dean’s welcome remarks on Speedway

8:00 p.m. Community parade along Speedway to the Tower and Gone to Texas. Be sure to wear your Texas Science gear and comfortable shoes.

8:30–10:00 p.m. Gone to Texas

Digital Wallet

To increase our sustainability efforts and reduce paper waste, we will be utilizing a "digital wallet" at Gone to Natural Sciences this year. Organizations, programs, and services will provide QR codes that link to information and flyers that can be downloaded to student's google drives.
