John Scibek

John has worked in gift planning and planned giving for 43 years with healthcare, higher education and research organizations. He serves as Director of Gift and Estate Planning for the University of Texas at Austin’s College of Natural Sciences, College of Pharmacy and Dell Medical School. He previously assisted Princeton University, Mayo Clinic, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, Marine Biological Laboratory and University of Montana Foundation, among others. John started his gift planning career by launching the yacht donation program for the University of Delaware.

He holds the Certified Specialist in Planned Giving designation from the American Institute for Philanthropic Studies, a Master of Science degree in Marine Studies from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science from Pennsylvania State University.

When not honing his ‘daytime’ craft, John may be found traveling on two wheels, engine or leg powered, or with a fly rod or kayak paddle in his hands.
