UTeach Recognized by Austin Neighborhood Foundation

The UTeach Program has been named a Supporter of the Year by the River City Youth Foundation, an organization whose mission is to help youth and families in Dove Springs to live safe, healthy, and prosperous lives. The Dove Springs neighborhood is located in Southeast Austin.

This semester, UTeach has seven interns tutoring and mentoring at the River City Youth Foundation (RCYF), and UTeach interns have worked with the foundation each semester for the last several years.

One of the UTeach interns, chemistry major Maria Reyes, has been named RCYF "Mentor of the Year". Sarah Wilson, a senior in biology, was recognized as a distinguished intern.

The UTeach Program and participants received recognition at RCYF’s 24th Annual Youth Recognition Awards on Tuesday, May 8th at St. Edward's University.
