Subscribe to the “HPOinfo” to receive important news and announcements about Q&A topic sessions, guest speakers, and other interesting events for UT Austin pre-health professions students!

Request an HPO Presentation

Our Health Professions Peer Mentors provide presentations. If you are part of CNS Cornerstones, a FIG, a Student Organization, or the HSS Class and would like to request a presentation from our office please fill out the presentation request form. Other organizations may also request presentations.

Pre-Health Professions Coaching

Schedule a Pre-Health Professions Coaching session to meet with a Pre-Health Professions Coach. These appointments cover: school admission requirements, professional school application processes, speak about health career options and alternatives, and to get up-to-date information about professional schools in Texas, across the country, and around the world.

Progress Checks

Check in with a Pre-Health Professions Coach and review your progress towards a successful application to professional school. Discuss and review what makes up your application. This is most beneficial if you check in at least 1x per school year

Not sure what to do? Thinking of dropping a course? Then you can schedule an appointment with a Pre-Health Professions Coach about Q dropping or deciding on a pass/fail option. Check out our TO Q or NOT TO Q guide before your appointment. 

Personal Statement Brainstorming

PERSONAL STATEMENT BRAINSTORMING

Pre-Health Professions Coaches can guide you in Brainstorming & Planning Content for your personal statements. Discuss your ideas with us before starting your personal statement. We will help you brainstorm ideas and help you stay on track.

If you would like to arrange a Personal Statement Brainstorming appointment, these resources will help you prepare to discuss your ideas with a Pre-HP Coach. 

PERSONAL STATEMENT FEEDBACK

The HPO has teamed up with the University Writing Center Writing Consultants who are experts in Personal Statement Writing, Revising, Review & Feedback.

Come to the HPO for help brainstorming personal statement content.

Then make an appointment with a UWC Writing Consultant for help at any stage of the writing, from getting your ideas into words to framing paragraphs and recommendations for a polished finished product.

Starting in the Spring of 2017, please rely on the University Writing Center to assist you with writing support and feedback, and the HPO will no longer offer Personal Statement Feedback appointments.

Interview Prep Appointment

Come prepare for your professional school interview. Discuss your questions and practice a couple interview questions with us! You meet one-one with a Pre-Health Professions Coach and receive key interview tips and pointers, along with feedback on the questions you practice, all to help you be successful in your professional school interview. Please come dressed for an interview if you have this already chosen, dressing up for your HP Interview Prep appointment is optional. Be prepared to discuss dress with your Pre-Health Professions Coach. Limit 1 per semester. 

Wednesday Coach Walk-in's! - Long Semesters

We have weekly Coach Walk-In day each Wednesday during the spring & fall semesters. We will provide quick, 15-minute first-come, first-served appointments in our office.  All Health Professions Students are welcome and we request that you come prepared with any questions you may have.                                                      

Please note: Walk-in's will start for Fall semester on September 6th, 2017 10am-3pm.
