Health Professions Alumni Policy Effective Fall 2017

The Health Professions Office is available to all students and alumni of The University of Texas at Austin. However, as Health Professions Coaching is funded through student fees paid upon enrollment, current students are our primary clients.

To promote the success of our recent graduates we will continue to offer all student services free for one (1) semester after graduation. After the first semester, alumni will be eligible for services on a renewable fee-basis.

Please note that during the first 2 weeks of the semester our appointments are only reserved for currently enrolled undergraduate students. Alumni of the University of Texas at Austin are more than welcome to make appointments after this time period.

Recent Graduates (free, full services)

Recent UT Austin graduates [within one (1) long semester of graduation + a consecutive summer session] may use all services for free, including scheduling appointments during peak coaching periods. These graduates will receive the same services as current students.

Established UT Alumni (fee-based services)

UT Austin alumni who are no longer enrolled and are more than one semester & a consecutive summer session beyond graduation will be charged a $120 fee per year. These services include a maximum of 3 coaching session(s) to be used within a 365 day period from the date of purchase. Any additional appointments beyond the 3 included in the package will incur a $50 charge per appointment.

For example: An alum who graduated in the Spring will receive the following Summer and Fall coaching services free of charge, but will be required to pay the $120 fee beginning the following Spring when they want to seek services. An Alum who graduated in the Fall will receive the following Spring and Summer coaching services free of charge, but will be required to pay the $120 fee beginning the following Fall when they want to seek services. 

Prospective Post-Bacc Students (fee-based services)

Prospective post bacc students who seek guidance regarding completion of pre-requisite courses at UT Austin (prior to enrollment) will be charged a $120 fee per year for services. Appointments will be limited to a maximum of 3 coaching session(s) per year. Any additional appointments beyond the 3 included in the package will incur a $50 charge per appointment.

For example: A student who completed a degree, is now thinking about medical school, and would like to talk with a coach about completing the pre-requisite courses at UT Austin before actually enrolling would pay the $120 fee.

Extension Courses

Any student enrolled solely in UT’s University Extension courses will also be charged the $120 fee and appointments will be limited to a maximum of 3 session(s) per year.
