Partner hires are a two-way split with the Provost’s Office the leading partner's hiring department, with the Provost's Office covering two-thirds of the academic rate and the leading partner's hiring department covering one-third of the academic rate, and lasts as long as the trailing partner holds a TT/T faculty position at UT Austin.  This split requires partners to be hired into separate departments, but can also apply to partners in separate colleges.
