Biography

Paul Damien joined The University of Texas at Austin in 2004, prior to which he was at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Damien is the B.M. Rankin Jr. Professor of Business in the Department of Information, Risk, and Operations Management, Red McCombs School of Business. His research interests lie at the intersection of mathematics, Bayesian statistics, and applications in business, engineering, and stochastic optimization. He is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society of England. He is twice recipient of the United Kingdom Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Research Award, and was awarded the United Kingdom Overseas Visiting Fellowship by the Royal Statistical Society of England. He has been a visiting scholar at the Department of Economics in the University of Groningen, Netherlands. He consults for several companies in a variety of industries world-wide.
