Prerequisites and Prerequisite Waivers
Students enrolling in Biochemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, and Neuroscience courses must meet all stated prerequisites.
Have you transferred a course from another institution that satisfies a prerequisite for a University of Texas at Austin biology course? If the answer is yes, you may need a prerequisite waiver to register for the UT biology course.
You may obtain a waiver for an upper division biology course by completing the prerequisite waiver form and:
- If you are a current upper division BIOLOGY major you may complete the form and send it via email to your assigned advisor. Or drop off the form at the front desk at NHB 2.606.
- If you are a current CNS STUDENT you may complete the form and drop it off at the front desk at NHB 2.606.
- If you are a current UT STUDENT in another college you may complete the form and drop it off at the front desk at NHB 2.606.
You may obtain a waiver for BIO 311C, 311D, 206L, 325, 446L, 365S and 165U by completing a waiver form for Mr. Greg Browning and dropping it off at the front desk of NHB 2.606.
Forms for UPPER DIVISION COURSES1 will be processed on Monday - Thursday 3:30 - 5:00PM. Please plan accordingly to make sure there are no delays in your registration process.

Course Restrictions and Access
Upper-division Biochemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences, and Neuroscience courses are restricted. Refer to FALL_2016_COURSE_RESTIRICTIONS.pdf to determine access information.
