About Us

The UT Student Government serves as the official student voice to the UT administration, the Board of Regents, and the Texas Legislature. Student Government strives to represent the interests of students by serving as a liaison between the University and the Austin community, improving the quality of campus life through the creation and promotion of student services, and preserving the traditions set forth throughout the history of UT.

Some of the duties of an elected representative include weekly assembly meetings, college council meetings, speakers circuit, and West Mall duty. College representatives are encouraged to be in touch with their constituents so they are able to get feedback on various issues facing the campus during their term.
