About Us
Pre-AMSA is the undergraduate branch of the American Medical Students Association, which boasts chapters in almost every medical school in the country. Although the UT chapter was founded less than five years ago, AMSA has been around for more than fifty. We operate differently from most premedical groups on campus—our goal has never been to pad resumes. We serve as a link between UT students interested in medicine and real-world professionals actually living their dreams. The speakers we present throughout the semester accurately represent a cross-section of the healthcare world. We offer several volunteer opportunities throughout the year, not all of which are connected to medicine. In the past, we have worked at everything from a nursing home to a bike race.
