Graduation
SUMMER GRADUATION
Students planning to graduate in the Summer 2007 semester must apply to graduate by
JULY 13, 2007
1) GRADUATION APPLICATION FOR STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED
Students currently enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin who have completed all degree requirements this semester, can apply to graduate at: https://utdirect.utexas.edu/ns/index.html.
2) GRADUATING IN ABSENTIA
Students not currently enrolled must apply to graduate in absentia through the College of Natural Sciences Secure Web Services at: https://utdirect.utexas.edu/ns/index.html. Students must have completed their degree requirements and allow additional time for materials to be received by the Dean’s Office prior to the deadline (July 13, 2007). Late applications will not be processed. Enclose all necessary forms and payment(s) in one envelope, and mail to:

The criteria for graduating with University honors will be the same as Spring 2007.

To qualify for honors you must have completed at least 60 hours at The University of Texas at Austin and be in the top 20 percent of your Natural Sciences graduating class.
Certification of graduates and assignment of honors will not be complete until August 27, 2007. Starting this date, degree information will be posted to transcripts.

- First day of class
- Students may apply to graduate through the CNS website, please go to: https://utdirect.utexas.edu/ns
- If you are not currently enrolled, you must apply "in absentia" at https://utdirect.utexas.edu/ns/index.html
- Transfer Work - All completed transfer work must be sent to the UT Admissions Office. (Transfer courses must have a grade of at least C to meet degree requirements.)
- Petitions - Petitions must be initiated through your academic advisor in the advising center of your major.
- Deadline for ALL students to apply to graduate. (Late in absentia applications will not be accepted.)
- Last day of class
- Offical graduation date (printed on diploma).
- Deadline for students to apply for tuition rebate.
- Deadline for credit-by-exam grades to be posted to official UT record to apply toward Summer 2007. Students must petition for credit by midnight Sunday, August 12, 2007.
- Deadline for Incompletes (grade X) to be received in CNS Dean's Office for degree candidates.
- Deadline for all degree candidates' coursework taken at UT distance education (UT correspondence) to be to posted to student record.
- Deadline for grade changes from instructors.
- Transcripts available with degree posted.
- Diplomas begin to be mailed to the address you reported to the Registrar’s Office; it may take 6-8 weeks.
