The Emerging Scholars Program (ESP) is a challenging honors-level academic program for a select group of entering freshmen majoring in the Colleges of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Business and Liberal Arts.
ESP is designed to provide students with an opportunity to study calculus and chemistry in a challenging but friendly environment. A similar (but more extensive) program for studying studying biology was developed in the Spring of 2007.
The benefits of the Emerging Scholars Program (ESP) include:
- Smaller discussion sections
- More hours of section
- ESP-specific advising
- Student assistants (who are former ESP students) to help you with your studies
- Classrooms designed specifically to encourage collaboration
- A collaborative problem-solving method that’s designed to deepen your understanding of the subject
- A proven track record of success for ESP students, who on average do better in the introductory class than the average UT student.
