The College of Natural Sciences funds and/or administers a number of fellowships for students doing research. We can also help direct you to many outside sources of funding for students engaged in research.

CNS Career Services - career advisors can help your create and update your resume, review application materials and set up mock interviews.

Undergraduate Writing Center - writing consultants can help you prepare your personal statements and review proposals.

The university's Study Abroad Office and the college's International Science Coordinator can help you find the right research opportunity abroad (and help you find funding to make it possible).

Programs

Women in Natural Sciences - Women in Natural Sciences (WINS) is a program of the College of Natural Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin designed to promote recruitment, retention, and success of women at all levels throughout the college.

Multicultural Academic Initiative - The MAI office was established to serve as a home base where underrepresented students in the sciences can receive academic support, advice, and counseling throughout their journey at UT.

Resources

Funding - The college has scholarships and fellowships that are awarded particularly to support research, and we can direct you, as well, to funding opportunities supported by the federal government, national science organizations, and industry.

Undergraduate Research Forum

Every spring, the college celebrates its student-scientists at the Undergraduate Research Forum, a one-day even at which more than 120 students give posters and oral presentations describing their research. The best and most innovative posters and presentations are recognized with awards judged and sponsored by the university, faculty, alumni and industry.
