University of Texas Incoming Students

Recent high school graduates or transfer students who have been accepted to UT Austin can participate in research the summer before they begin their degree work.  This can be a part of an early-start program, such as Summer Honors Chemistry or the Degree-in-Three, or it can simply be a stand-alone experience.  To learn more about each option, please click on the links below.

Dates (Note: Dates can be somewhat flexible dependent upon students enrollment in summer courses.)

Session 1:

Monday, 6/11/2012 - 7/6/2012

Session 2:

Monday, 7/16/2012- Friday 8/10/2012

Fees

The registration fee for the Summer Research Academy is $150, independent of participation in one or two sessions.  The supply and instruction fee is $350 per student per session.  There will also be a one-time fee of $10 for a student identification card.  Students have the option of applying to participate in one or both of the 4 week sessions.  Payment of fees are not required until students have been accepted into the program.

Fee waivers are available on a limted basis.  Please submit a letter demonstrating financial need to be considered for a waiver.  Letters can be submitted to Melissa Taylor Goessling by email no later than April 15, 2012.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. How to Apply

Applications include the on-line application and liability release form.  All application materials are due by April 15th, 2012.  (Note: Incoming UT students do not need to submit a teacher recommendation for this program.)
