Health Professions

DavidSonThe 2013-2014 College of Natural Sciences online Health Professions scholarship application is now available.  Please note that a complete application consists of the online portion and at least one (1) faculty letter of recommendation.  Instructions on how to submit the letters of recommendation can be found on the application.  Only pre-medical students are eligible to apply for Health Professions scholarships.

You can access the online application at https://www.utexas.edu/cns/scholap.  Please be sure to carefully read the instructions before submitting an application.

The deadline for submission of the online application and letters of recommendation is April 15, 2013.  Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.

Laurence Baker Memorial Scholarship
Pre-medical applicants must have completed at least 30 semester hours (or two long semesters) in residence at UT-Austin by the end of the semester in which they are applying. Applicants must be enrolled full-time.  Scholastic performance and financial need will be considered; the amount of the award for each scholarship will vary according to the recipient's need.

Michael John Fink, M.D. Endowed Presidential Scholarship
Pre-medical applicants must have completed at least 45 hours in residence and have a cumulative GPA of 3.75. Students must be enrolled full time for the semester in which they are considered, as well as in the two semesters in which they receive the award. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Neel Harrington Memorial Endowed Scholarship
A scholarship will be awarded to a full-time junior pre-medical student in the College of Natural Sciences. The scholarship guidelines state "students eligible to receive the scholarship should have demonstrated academic achievement and involvement in University and extracurricular activities. Financial need may be a consideration, but is not a specific requirement."

Edward Sibley Lewis, M.D. Endowed Presidential Pre-Medical Scholarship
These scholarships are for junior or senior pre-medical students, who are Texas residents. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75. Students must be enrolled full time for the semester in which they are considered, as well as in the two semesters in which they receive the award. The award will be based on scholastic performance and other achievements.

David A. Ott, M.D. Scholarship
This scholarship is for a full-time junior or senior pre-medical student enrolled in Liberal Arts, with at least 30 semester hours (or two long semesters) in residence at UT Austin by the end of the semester in which they are applying. Applicants must be a Texas resident.  The award will be based on financial need, scholastic performance and other achievements.

Ralph A. Steiner, M.D. Scholarship

Pre-medical applicants must have completed at least 30 semester hours (or two long semesters) in residence at UT-Austin by the end of the semester in which they are applying. Applicants must be enrolled full-time.  Scholastic performance and financial need will be considered; the amount of the award for each scholarship will vary according to the recipient's need.
