Historically, students at The University of Texas at Austin have been excellent candidates for prestigious national and international fellowship awards for their academic achievement, leadership potential and commitment to public service. These awards include: The Rhodes Scholarship Created in 1902 by the will of British philanthropist Cecil Rhodes, it offers two or three years of study at the University of Oxford in England. UT Austin has had 27 Rhodes Scholars. To apply for this scholarship you may get a hard copy from the university representative, Larry Carver, or download the application in PDF form from the Rhodes website. The Harry S. Truman Scholarship It provides $30,000 for graduate or professional study for students who wish to pursue careers in public service.
