Academic Records & Initiatives

The Office of Academic Records & Initiatives manages the undergraduate curriculum in the College of Natural Sciences. The office assists faculty with the creation of new courses and degree plans; processes student petitions and graduation applications; serves as the college’s liaison with the registrar; manages accreditation efforts; and provides data reporting and analyses for CNS courses, programs, and initiatives. Our goal is to provide excellent support to faculty, students and staff on all curricular matters in the college, including:

  • making curricular policies and procedures accessible and clear
  • processing student petitions and advisor requests efficiently
  • supporting faculty-initiated curricular changes
  • streamlining the accreditation process for all departments
  • providing relevant data to support CNS decision-making

We are here to assist and advise college faculty and staff as they develop and implement academic initiatives. This process involves coordinating efforts at the departmental, college and university level. Select from the links below for specific information about our office.

Student Records (secure log-in)

Information for faculty and staff who are processing petitions on a student's behalf or submitting grade change forms. A secure log-in will take advisors directly to the petition database and the college's policies and procedures.

Course & Curriculum

Guidelines and deadlines for faculty and staff who are proposing course inventory or legislative changes. A secure log-in will take course and curriculum committee members to all documents under review.

SACS Accreditation Support

Our office manages the assessments plans for undergraduate education in the college. This site will provide faculty with access to rubrics for assessment and access to the TracDat system.

Data Reporting and Analysis

To support data-driven decision making in our College, our office provides data reporting and analysis related to student performance in CNS courses, programs, and initiatives.  We also develop and support automated processes for data retrieval and reporting for administrative functions.
