Fellowships

College of Natural Sciences and
FRI Fellowships- Summer 2008


College of Natural Sciences undergraduate researchers and Freshman Research Initiative students and alumni are eligible for summer stipend support to allow them to work full or part time in a research group for a minimum of 8 weeks of the summer.  Current FRI students (in their first summer at UT) will be funded to work in their FRI Stream.  FRI alumni and non -FRI students can be funded to work in another research group on the UT campus.

Application Instructions:

1. Write a personal statement detailing how this summer research experience relates to your personal, academic and career goals. Include reference to things you have experienced thus far in your Stream. This statement is limited to 500 words. For FRI alumni, please be sure to include reference to which research group you are currently a member of.

2. Complete the application form available HERE including pasting your personal statement into the appropriate field. This form is best viewed with Internet Explorer or Firefox.

3. Click SUBMIT on the application.

Full time fellowships require 35-40 hours per week for at least 8 weeks and come with a stipend of $2500.  Half time fellowships require either 1)18-20 hours per week for the full eight weeks, or 2) 35-40 hours per week for 4 weeks.  Half time fellowships carry a stipend of $1250.
