Science is global, and the leading scientists and doctors of the 21st century will be the people who have an understanding of global issues, the courage to take risks, and the confidence to immerse themselves in the unknown. The companies, graduate programs and medical schools to which you'll soon be applying know that, and they recognize and reward applicants who have a global perspective and an adventurous spirit.
The first step toward going abroad is realizing that it's possible. The second step is visiting us at the
Office for Honors, Research and International Study (OHRIS), where we'll show you how to go abroad and still
- earn credit that works with your degree plan
- take science courses taught by UT faculty
- work in science and technology industry internships
- do original laboratory research
- complement your pre-med studies with real healthcare experience
The University of Texas at Austin has agreements with hundreds of colleges and universities around the world that allow you to take core classes abroad—classes like BIO 325, CH 455 and CS 356—so that you can stay on track with your degree at home.
Tuitions and living expenses abroad are comparable to what you’d pay if you stayed in Texas, and there are scholarships, fellowships and grants available to help you make the experience possible. We can also help you find, and apply for, the research and internship opportunities that work best with your goals and your course of study.

Keep Us Informed
The College of Natural Sciences wants to publicize the amazing work that its students are doing, but there's so much going on that we need your help to keep track of it all. If you know of a student (or if you are a student) who deserves recognition for accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, research and international studies, please fill out
this form so that we can give our students their due.
