The deadline for the 2008-2009 Out-of-State Tuition Waivers was March 1, 2008.  We are no longer accepting applications.

Authorization agreements (commonly known as tuition waivers) allow non-resident students to pay tuition at in-state rates. The regulations (as set by the Texas Legislature) governing these waivers state that in order to be eligible to apply for a tuition waiver, the student must be the current holder of an academically competitive scholarship in which:
  1. He/she was in competition with other students in the State of Texas.
  2. The total award amount must be at least $1,000.
  3. The scholarship was administered and awarded by The University of Texas in an application
process open both to residents and non-residents.
  4. The scholarship must be specifically designated to cover the semester for which the tuition
waiver is requested. (If, however, you’re submitting an application for the summer, then the scholarship can be designated for either the preceding spring semester or upcoming fall semester.)
  5. Student must be registered full-time and majoring in the College of Natural Sciences.
A complete application consists of the online portion and two (2) faculty letters of recommendation.  All materials, including the letters of recommendation, must be received no later than the March 1 deadline.  Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
