Choosing Instructors
Choose your instructors carefully. There are many ways to investigate instructors' teaching styles and personalities, as well as the amount of work involved.
- Course Instructor Surveys. Surveys are completed by students who have taken specific classes. The results are compiled and posted and can be viewed online at: https://utdirect.utexas.edu/mec/cis/
- Word of Mouth. Ask your advisor and peers about what they have heard and/or experienced first-hand. Ask several people before making a decision.
The best approach to selecting a course or instructor is to get information from multiple sources. Everyone has an opinion; make sure the one you form is well-founded and reflects your own educational background and interest.
