The College of Natural Sciences offers Bachelors of Arts and Bachelors of Science degrees in over 50 majors, including astronomy, biochemistry, biology, computer sciences, and human development.
Natural Sciences students initially enroll in an entry-level major. After completing some of the courses required for the degree, each student selects the major and the option he or she plans to pursue. For example, all applicants interested in a career in physics apply to the entry-level Physics major. After completing entry-level courses, the student chooses to pursue either the Bachelor of Arts in Physics or the Bachelor of Science in Physics with an option in physics, computation, radiation physics, space sciences, or teaching.

Academic Focus
The core mission of the College of Natural Sciences is to provide an excellent, research-oriented education in science that fosters the success of its students.
Health Professions
Natural Sciences does not offer specific "pre-med," "pre-vet" or "pre-dent" majors, but the Health Professions Office helps students make informed decisions in preparation to enter a professional degree program. Full-time advisors and part-time peer advisors are available to help select courses to meet professional school admission requirements, advise on health career options and alternatives, and provide up-to-date information about professional schools. They even hold mock interviews.
Teaching
Students interested in becoming a science, mathematics or computer sciences teacher can earn certification through the UTeach Natural Sciences program. UTeach can lead to secondary certification and a degree in your chosen major within a four-year plan. The College of Natural Sciences will pay your tuition for two one-hour courses that allow you to explore teaching as early as your freshman year by actually teaching hands-on lessons to children at local schools.
