WINS first-year students have the opportunity to go on a fall & spring semester trip. The entire group also participates in various activities around town on the evenings and weekends throughout both semesters.

Fall: Overnight stay at UT's Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas

Spring: Behind-the-scenes tour at Sea World San Antonio

Local Outings around Austin: Blanton Art Museum, dinner at various restaurants, bowling at the Union Underground, a sunset Bat Cruise...

All in-state trips are provided at little or no cost to participants.

Service Abroad: This May a group of WINS students and their program coordinator/advisor, Elizabeth, will be traveling to Costa Rica.  They will be working on public health initiatives with the BriBri Indians and then sea turtle conservation in the Manzanillo National Park.  This opportunity through Cultural Embrace, a local Austin company, is a first for WINS and we are very excited.  Pura Vida!
