Graduate & Faculty Programs

Women in Natural Sciences (WINS) is a program of the College of Natural Sciences at The University of Austin designed to promote recruitment, retention, and success of women at all levels throughout the college. Program objectives for our graduate students, postdocs and faculty include:

  • Establish UT-Austin as a leader in recruitment, retention and success of women scientists.
  • Create an environment of support and encouragement for all women.
  • Increase faculty representation in the CNS.
  • Support graduate students and postdocs in preparing for careers in research and teaching

For Graduate Students and Postdocs

"To Academia and Beyond" - a series of workshops designed to help graduate students and postdocs prepare for careers as scientists in academia or industry. These will posted under "Events" when scheduled.

"Women in Science" - a course covering issues that women face today in academia with discussions led by successful women in academia and industry. Offered in the fall semester.

Announcements of opportunities and workshops for graduate students and postdocs will be posted under events as we receive them.

Women's Resource Center
An online compendium of resources that we've assembled to help you navigate your way around the University, Ausin and life.

Student Organizations
There are four student organizations within WINS but currently only Women in Chemistry (Iota Sigma Pi Chapter) actively recruits graduate students as members.
