Below is some important information for students to keep in mind when taking advantage of career services.
Natural Sciences Career Services uses the eRecruiting online system to register students and handle on-campus recruiting. Students may register online with our office by following the "Login to eRecruiting" link on the main homepage. Registration is free to all currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Natural Sciences; alumni of the college will be able to access the database for one long semester after graduation. After that time a $10.00 fee per semester will need to be paid each semester. The fee must be paid in the Natural Sciences Career Services office in Painter 5.03. Once the fee has been paid, students can be added to the database.Interview "No-Show" Policy
Instructions on how to use the eRecruiting system to register, submit resumes, and sign up for on-campus interviews are available at http://utns.erecruiting.com. Employers not visiting campus to interview also contact us for resumes. Since we can give employers access to the system to view resumes, it is beneficial for students to upload their resume onto eRecruiting.
Fall 2007 recruiting season runs from October 1- November 17, 2007.
Note: Late registration for classes might delay your access to our interview scheduling system. Contact our office if you experience any problems.
Interviews must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance to give us an opportunity to contact other students to fill the vacant slot. A cancellation the same day of the interview is viewed as a no-show.Other Job Listings
A first no-show will not result in any formal disciplinary action, but it is strongly recommended that you send a letter of apology to the recruiter whose interview was missed. After a second no-show, you must meet with an advisor in our office before being allowed to take part in any more interviews, and it is again strongly recommended that a letter of apology be written to the recruiter. A third no-show will result in your being banned from any future on-campus interviewing through our office.
All job notices we receive from employers not associated with on-campus interviewing are posted on the eRecruiting website. To view these job announcements, go to the "Jobs & Internships" link in eRecruiting. These opportunities for all majors include full-time jobs, co-ops and internships nationwide, as well as part-time local jobs.
