Why must I take the UT Math Assessment?
The UT Math Assessment is used to determine the mathematics course in which students at the University of Texas will have the greatest success. Upon completion of the assessment your score is sent to your academic advisor. Your advisor will review your score and make appropriate recommendations for course registration.
What math is on ALEKS Math?
ALEKS Math is a fully automated, adaptive system that covers a broad spectrum of high school level mathematics. The length of the assessment runs from 20 to 35 questions. Thus, you will see some, but not all, of the math you have learned in high school. It is a placement exam, not a preview of math courses at UT.
