College of Natural Sciences Graduation Ceremony
The College holds two spring commencement ceremonies for its graduates.
Location: Frank C. Erwin, Jr., Special Events Center Date: Saturday, May 19, 2012. Time: 8:00 am and Noon.
8:00 am ceremony: All Natural Sciences graduates except Biology; Biochemistry; and Chemistry.
Noon ceremony: Biology (including Environmental Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, and Public Health); Biochemistry; and Chemistry graduates.
No tickets are required for either ceremony. There is no limit to the number of family and friends you may invite to either ceremony.
BA and BS Graduation Candidates
Approval of your graduation application consitutes approval to participate in the graduation ceremony. There is no need to apply to walk. Graduation candidates should arrive one hour prior to the start of the ceremony and enter at the lower-level Red River entrance.
BA and BS Walker Applicants
Walker applicants approved to participate in the ceremony should arrive one hour prior to the start of the ceremony and enter at the lower-level Red River entrance. Walker applicants must apply to graduate during the following semester.
Master and Ph.D. Graduates
Master and Ph.D. candidates must apply to graduate with the School of Graduate Studies by the published deadline. The School of Graduate Studies holds commencement ceremonies for Master and Ph.D. graduates.

Required Regalia
Academic regalia are required for all candidates participating in commencement. They may be purchased from the University Co-op. The tassel color for BA and BS graduates in the College of Natural Sciences is gold/yellow. Bachelor's regalia must be ordered by May 11, 2012.
Parking
Parking is available in university parking lots and parking garages near the Erwin Center. Please also see the Accessibility Map of the Erwin Center Area.
Personal Items
Do not bring personal items such as purses or coats to the ceremony. There is no secure area in which to leave them. We recommend carrying cell phones on wrist bands or in clothing with pockets.
Professional Photographs
A professional photographer will be present to photograph each graduation candidate as he or she walks across the stage to be congratulated. You will have the option of purchasing photographs. There is no obligation to do so.
Invitations
Formal invitations to send to family and friends may be ordered from the University Co-op.
