Assistantships
IMG_2770Funding resources vary by graduate program. Some programs, like Neuroscience, guarantee a stipend for an entire course of study (4-5 years). Others, such as Cell and Molecular Biology, guarantee a stipend for 1 year and then work with students to find teaching and research assistantships.

General information about teaching and research assistantships can be found at the Graduate School.

The Office of the Dean also offers a limited number of fellowships for graduate students.

Eligibility:
Applicants must not be employed at 50% time or more as a Teaching Assistant, an Assistant Instructor, a Graduate Research Assistant, or in a similar job title during the Fall Semester. Resident and non-resident students may apply. Higher priority for an award is given to those students in their final semester of graduate work or students needing supplemental support to employment of less than one-half time. Recipients may be newly recruited students.

Application Deadline:
Applications must be submitted to the chairperson of the academic unit in which the student is enrolled.

Stipend: Approximately fifteen fellowships of $1,000 per student will be awarded. Out-of-state tuition waivers are available for awardees that are non-Texas residents.
