UT College Readiness for Chemistry

Courses in the College of Natural Sciences are demanding. To help you prepare for college-level chemistry at UT Austin, the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry requires the readiness package. The package provides personal and computer-based support as you review chemistry topics in preparation for CH301.

Step 1: About	Answers to common questions such as “Who must take the UT Chemistry Assessment?”
Step 2: Warm Up	Quick video review. And practice questions similar in content to the ALEKS Chemistry initial assessment.
Step 3: Purchase	Purchase the UT Chemistry Assessment Package.
Step 4: Assess	Take the ALEKS Chemistry initial assessment.
Step 5: Your Score	A score of at least 85% is required to remain enrolled in CH301.
Step 6: Tech Support	List of contacts for getting technical help.
Step 7: Improve Your Score	Utilize ALEKS Chemistry Learning Mode, peer mentors, and UT Learning Modules to increase your understanding of chemistry topics our professors consider prior knowledge. These topics are important to your success in General Chemistry courses at UT Austin.
