You have been admitted to the College of Natural Sciences, but now what?  The information provided below is to serve as a basic guide for newly admitted students.

1. Orientation. If you are a new student, you should consider attending orientation.  Orientation provides students with necessary information for the University of Texas, the College of Natural Sciences, and allows you to meet other students with similar interests.

2. UT ID Card. All students are required to obtain a UT ID card.  Your ID card is required for use of most campus services, and also allows you to ride the UT and metro city busses for free.  Visit the link below for more information.

3. UT Email Address. It is important to establish a UT email account for secure communications between yourself and the university, CNS, and your advisor.

4. Parking. Find out more about obtaining a parking pass from Parking and Transportation Services.

5. Advisor assignment. Whether you are a new student, a recently admitted student from another college at UT, or you moved from the First-Year Advising Center, you might be wondering, “who is my advisor?”  Advisor assignments are typically made in the first two weeks of a given semester.

6. Registration. In order to register for classes, you must first meet with your academic advisor.  New students will meet with an academic advisor at orientation.  Other students can make an appointment by calling 512-471-3796.
