About the College Advisory Council
Advisory Council Chair
Dr. Jim Prentice
James Prentice received his B.A. from The University of Texas in 1958 and his M.D. from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1962. He served in the United States Air Force Medical Corps from 1963 to 1970. Following positions as a consultant and an assistant professor at the Mayo Clinic and the Mayo Medical School from 1970 to 1978, Prentice joined the Austin Anesthesiology Group, where he was a partner until his retirement in 2002.
Prentice also serves on the boards of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and the Austin Theatre Alliance. He is a past president of the Travis County Medical Society.
